11th World Congress for Hair Research – Barcelona 2019
The 11th WCHR took place between 24-27 April in Sitges near Barcelona. The meeting was a huge success, with
a large number of attendees from all over the world. The talks were of very high quality, combining basic
science with important clinical updates. The social events were a great opportunity to meet friends and
colleagues in the wonderful atmosphere of Sitges. Congratulations to Prof. Juan Ferrando, Prof.
Ramon Grimalt and Dr. Sergio Vaño for organizing this successful meeting.
During the meeting, the EHRS has awarded the Jürgen Schweizer prize to Joy Ng from Carlos Clavel’s
lab at A-Star, Singapore, for the work on the role of Sox2 in the dermal papilla in regulating hair follicle
pigmentation.
